Upcoming Top 7 List for Well-Red Mage
Oh Well-Red Mage, you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into. June 20 will see me contribute to The Well-Red Mage’s June Collaboration Project, where I will be giving my take on the Top 7 Best Nintendo DS Games. Well-Red, you do realize that’s a Wednesday, right? That’s like top-billing for bloggers, as statistically Wednesday mornings are the best day and time to post a blog according to *science.*
For real though, go subscribe, not only because I’m excited for you to read my very long list post, but also because the mages are redefining game media as we know it. No, for real, it says that in their bio. One day I shall become a mage, just as soon as
they invent I organize more hours in the day for writing long-winded philosophical video game musings.
Hyrule Collaboration RELEASE DATE
I’m pleased to announce the release date for Hyrule: See the Sights! Hear the Sounds! It will be Wednesday, July 11 at 10:00 A.M. EST. For my amazing U.K. (London) audience, that’s 3:00 P.M. See what I mean about Wednesday mornings?
A few contributors still have a couple of things left to turn in. I’m afraid the deadline for turning in stuff is Saturday, July 7. After that, I absolutely have to go with what I have, because Nikki and I have got some major designing, editing, and optimization to do. So don’t wait to get it in.
So, once more unto the links! You need to go follow these amazing contributors if you aren’t already.
Emma @ Geeky Tourist · GG @ Hungrygoriya · Ian @ Adventure Rules ·
Overachiever Jan @ The Life of Jan · Kim @ Later Levels · KT @ Wintendo64 · Megan @ A Geeky Gal · Pix1001 @ Shoot the Rookie · Teri Mae @ Sheikah Plate · Nikki @ Normal Happenings · Matt @ Normal Happenings
Nice Job Badges Optimization
Nice Job Badges on Fridays have been an overwhelming success! Don’t worry, they’re not going anywhere. Superhero graphic designer Megan @ A Geeky Gal, who did the Normal Happenings logo, is designing some shiny new Nice Job Badges that look like, you know, actual badges. I’m also working on streamlining the format somewhat. As soon as that’s done, they will make their triumphant return!
I have a problem — I’ve been really into the radio variety-comedy show A Prairie Home Companion. As a graphic artist, I have plenty of time to listen to podcasts, media, and such. Well, after hearing a performance on NPR, I went online to find that every single performance has been archived on the Prairie Home Website. It’s a weekly show that’s been running since 1974, and each performance is two hours long. I literally want to listen to them all, so — hold on, let me do some math. Let’s see, that’s 52 times 2 times 43, which equals 4,472 hours of A Prairie Home Companion. That’s 186 DAYS nonstop. Well, I guess I’ll see you all next year sometime.
I also wanted to introduce you all to Glad Topographies, an Instagram I’ve been running for two years. Based on @sadtopographies, each post features a location on planet Earth with an optimistic name! In addition to the map, I also like to find and appreciate pictures from each place, as everywhere on Earth seems to have some form of natural beauty. Some very small places are difficult to find pictures of, but I always seem to manage. I’d love it if you gave Glad Topographies a follow!
