Nice Job Badges! | Week of May 18

It’s time to hand out this week’s colorful new set of Nice Job badges! Every blogger deserves recognition for the time and effort they put into their craft. These bloggers just deserve it a little more, that’s all.

Wait, today’s not Thursday. What gives!? Well, imagine a world where badges exemplifying the best of the week’s posts were given out at, you know, the end of the week! Yeah, it’s pretty obvious that Fridays are the best day so we can always go into the weekend on a high note.

So, brief update: Mondays are for Dysontopia, Wednesdays are for super specific challenges, and Tuesdays and Thursdays are for more traditional, substantial posts. Got it? Good.

Each Friday I’ll pick out five new blog posts posted within the span of that week! Here’s some things:

  • If someone makes an amazing post one week, then makes another the next, I will feature them two times in a row.
  • However, I will not (typically) feature the same blogger twice on one list, unless I’m really blown away. If so, I may give six badges that week.
  • The posts will all be from the current seven day period, though posts made on Thursdays or Fridays may overlap with the next week.
  • They must be on WordPress or Jetpack-enabled platforms. I’m sorry Blogger bloggers.
  • It’s perfectly fine to put the badge on your recognized piece with a pingback to this post!
  • Now featuring a weird assortment of colors!
  • They are in no particular order because they’re all great.

Nice Job Gold2Dark Journal Days | By A Creative PTSD Gal

Nice job, you’ve obtained this week’s GOLD badge!

First of all, wanted to give huge shout-outs to Creative PTSD Gal’s site design — no wonder considering she’s a graphic designer by trade. I’ve been following Jo for a while, and she puts a ton of work into each of her posts. This one is no exception — I mean, crafting a story entirely using journal entries? Inspired! You deserve the gold this week. Keep up the good work!

light salmon pink5FF: Favorite Fictional Moms | By A Geeky Gal

Nice job, you’ve earned this week’s Light Salmon Pink badge!

Mothers Day was last week, and Megan from A Geeky Gal puts together a unique and cool list of great mothers. Of course, what nets the badge is the fact the Lorelei Gilmore from the deep and creative Gilmore Girls makes the list. I miss that show so much.

Cassel EarthTen of the Most Instagrammable Places in Cornwall | By A Cornish Geek

Nice job, you’ve earned this week’s Cassel Earth badge!

Speaking of great site design, check out A Cornish Geek — especially this post. Filled to the brim with beautiful pictures of literally everywhere in Cornwall, you’ll think you’re there. Now what would be really meta is if you were in Cornwall reading this post about being in Cornwall. Honorary Nice Job badge to anyone who actually does that.

lavaTop 5 Songs That Remind Me Of Games | By Shoot the Rookie

Nice job, you’ve earned this week’s Lava badge!

There’s music, and then there’s video game music. And then there is music that reminds you of video game music. Confused? Me too. Maybe this post by the talented (also Hyrule contributor) Pix1001 will help! Oddly psychological, he goes through five tracks the he relates back to games, and inspires me to come up with my own list of songs. Absolutely worth the read.

winter wizardReview: Blossom Tales | By Home Button

Nice job, you’ve earned this week’s Winter Wizard badge!

Blossom Tales is my current obsession — oh how I adore this amazingly beautiful reimagining of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I haven’t felt emotions like this since I played A Link Between Words, and it looks like Daniel of Home Button feels the same way. He reviews and describes these feelings in detail, and it’s well worth the read if you’re even remotely into indie gaming.

Did I miss any links you think deserve recognition? Do a Nice Job by sharing them with us in the comments!

  1. Thank you so much! I started writing it as just a random list, but I found the reasons for why I made the connections really interesting, and I think lots of people probably make different connections for other reasons!
